Responsibilities

The Office Maintenance Technician performs general cleaning and minor maintenance duties in maintaining the building, adjacent walks and grounds, and equipment in clean, orderly and functional condition.

  1. Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, common areas, offices, stairways and windows.
  2. Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip and wax floors.
  3. Uses vacuum cleaners to clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and blinds.
  4. Dusts furniture and equipment.
  5. Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
  6. Empties wastebaskets.
  7. Replenishes restroom supplies.
  8. Replaces light bulbs.
  9. Picks up and delivers supplies and materials to rooms.
  10. Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
  11. Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.
  12. Performs touch up and finish painting.
  13. Checks building at beginning and end of shifts.
  14. Participates in building coverage by working evenings and Saturday rotation as required.
  15. Provides transportation to visitors or training participants using company vehicle.
  16. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Minimum two years’ experience in office janitorial services.
  • Must be able to provide own tools as required by job duties
  • Valid driver’s license in Florida – prefer safe driver certification.
  • Able to read, speak and understand information in English.
