The Technical Services Director is an exceptional opportunity for a proven IT leader to work in an innovative, fast-growing and cutting-edge childcare company with a history of steady growth. Teams reporting to the Technical Services Director include Desktop Support, Networking and IT Security. Reporting directly to the Vice President of IT, the Technical Services Director will be responsible for developing a strategy and roadmap to deliver a more responsive and robust IT infrastructure. This candidate will work alongside business leaders to define, align, and implement policies, procedures, and technical solutions that ensure interoperability, manage risk, lower total cost of ownership, and provide a platform for scalable future growth.  


Essential Functions

  • Excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to gain the respect of a high performing support group.
  • Ability to define and execute high-level technical strategies and able & willing to roll up your sleeves.
  • Ultimate responsibility for entire support staff and network infrastructure.
  • Core competencies must include experience with VMWare, Exchange, AWS, Active Directory Management, GPO’s, SQL, Windows Support and DNS.
  • Experience in managing Cloud based technology projects, including transitioning traditional Data Center operations to cloud services.
  • Ensuring targeted service and performance standards are achieved or exceeded.
  • Executing tactical plans and initiatives that exceed customer expectations via phone, email and web—resulting in increased customer satisfaction.
  • Establishing and managing communication channels within and among departments—being the liaison to provide customer feedback to the Senior Management Team.
  • Strong process and workflow analysis skills to determine where and how to introduce optimizations or reduce the amount of manual work.


The ideal candidate will be a polished executive with excellent communication skills who will bring strategic and operational IT leadership experience. The candidate will be a collaborative leader who garners buy-in and delivers results within the organization.

  • Minimum 7 years in a technical role and at least 5 of those years leading a technical team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
